McKinney: Over the Independence Day weekend we saw many leftists using the 1619 Project’s revisionist history to laughably argue that the main driver of the American revolution was to protect slavery. They say the colonists saw Britain becoming more and more opposed to slavery and so they fought back to protect their peculiar institution as Lincoln would later call it.
